Join us for the capstone project presentations of two student cohorts from the Georgia Institute of Technology who have worked with Mayo physicians on developing innovative solutions to specific problems in the practice.
Cohort 1: The Brainy Bunch (working with Dr. Quinones, Dr. Clifton, and Aaron Damon): Simulating brain mapping using 3D printing for advanced simulation and non-invasive intracranial pressure monitoring.
Cohort 2: Embrace Team (working with Dr. Terkonda): Printing of customized bras for correction of congenital deformities and post-surgical defects.
Mayo Clinic and Georgia Tech developed an educational program to support Convergence Science, leveraging both institutions’ areas of expertise: medicine and engineering. The program pairs a clinical mentor with a team of biomedical engineering students for a semester-long project to address unmet needs and gaps that will improve patient care and transform the practice of medicine.
